Critical Plumbing Ohio ("we", "us") is a plumbing company serving the Cleveland area. This page says what information we keep about our customers, why, and who else touches it. It covers our website, our scheduling and invoicing app, the Goblin Guild rewards program, and the emails and text messages we send.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us when you call, fill in a form or book a visit: name, company, service and billing addresses, phone number and email address.
- Job records: what we were called for, what we found and did, estimates, invoices, photos of the work, and your signature on a document you signed.
- Payment records: what was paid, when and how. Card payments are handled by Stripe; your card number goes to Stripe and is never seen or stored by us.
- Guild accounts: if you join the Goblin Guild, your login email, your gold balance, rewards and referrals.
- Messages: emails and text messages between you and us.
How we use it
- To schedule, carry out and bill for plumbing work, and to keep a history of the work done at your property.
- To send you estimates, invoices, receipts and payment links.
- To send appointment messages about your own visit (see Text messages below).
- To run the Guild rewards program for members.
- To keep our books and meet tax and legal requirements.
We do not sell your information. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Text messages
When you give us your mobile number to book or discuss a visit, you agree that we may text that number about that visit: a booking confirmation, a reminder the evening before, a message when your plumber is on the way, and a thank-you when the job is paid, which may include a link to leave a review. We may also answer texts you send us.
Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is passed only to the service providers that deliver the messages for us (listed below). The full terms are on our Text Messaging Terms page.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers, each only for its job:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): stores our customer, job and invoice records and hosts the app.
- Stripe: processes card payments and memberships.
- EmailJS and our email provider: deliver estimates, invoices and receipts.
- Twilio: delivers text messages.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to collect a debt owed to us.
How long we keep it
Job, invoice and payment records are kept for as long as we are in business with you and as long afterwards as tax and warranty obligations require, normally seven years. Guild accounts are kept until you ask us to close them.
Security
Records are stored with access limited to our employees, whose accounts require two-step sign-in. Backups are taken daily. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information the way we would want ours treated.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep.
- Reply STOP to stop texts, or tell us not to text you when you book.
- Close your Guild account at any time.
Minors
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
